I can't make out anything on it to give me a clue as to which variety it is. Maybe in hand I could see more, but this is beyond my skill set.

If this is an 1822 Large cent, it would be a Coronet Type.

Coins776, are you testing your own skills? Pushing yourself to learn and find varieties to improve your expertise? Or are you trying to challenge us? Just curious.

It's a 1822 coronet type but that's about all I can make out pretty much worn flat

No way its N-7. Not much to work with here. POL looks to be under the right edge of S2. It doesn't look like it is past the edge of S2. So that makes it 10, 12, or 14. The lettering on the reverse is the wrong style to be 14. That leaves 10 or 12. On 10 the left edge of the curl is over the center if the first 2, on 12 it is between the inner and outer curves of the first 2. This looks like 12 R-4.

If the POL is slightly past the edge of S2 then it is 4, 5, or 6. The left edge of the curl is over the right edge of the 2 on N-4, between the inner and outer curves on N-5, and over the center of the 2 on N-6. So if the POL does extend slightly past the right edge of S2 then it is N-5 R-3.
