2 banks last week struck out on trying to order my boxes. So, when I was out today I wheeled by a couple of banks I hadn't tried before and managed to come up with $50 in Ikes and $150 in Halves. In both cases, there was nothing worth keeping.

Had some great boxes this last weekend. Pulled 40 silvers out of one box (1x40%, 19xFranklins, 20xWalkers). Next box, 1xFranklin, 2xWalkers. Next box, 1xFranklin, 1xWalker, 2xProofs. Very nice finds. Didn't top my best box of Jan for most silvers but this last weekend did give me the most mm/year spreads. Had a box two weeks ago that yielded 231 silvers (219x40%, 10x90%, 2xFranklins). Hoping Feb will be good to me like Jan was!

not really, but she always pays me in old coins. one time i mowed her lawn, raked all her leaves, and cleaned out her garage, and she gave me $39.5 FV in walkers and franklins :). (this was back when silver was only ~$8/ounce though)

Got some great finds at work today:
    9 wheats: 1916, 1944, 1944D, 1944S (hole filler), 1946, 1947, 1953, 1956, 1957D
    1959x2, 1959D
    Dateless Buffalo Nickel
    1963 Silver Dime
Uncirculated 1976D Bicentennial Quarter, still has the orange luster on the rim!
    Foreign:
1932 Canadian Penny (my oldest Canadian find)
    2010 1/2 Fr.
    2002 10 cent euro.

Franklin Pierce Bronze Token. Not sure what year these were made.

Did a machine run today and stopped into a few banks. of $17.50 in halves, I got 1 -40%.

I also stopped into the coin shop and traded the Ikes for face value plus 1 1955 dime. I showed off my slick walker half I found a couple weeks ago and asked if he had any way of determining the date. He immediately spotted the D under IN GOD WE TRUST on the front of the coin and identified it as a 1916 or 1917 Walking Liberty. They minted less than 1 million of each, so I've got a rare find. Probably isn't worth much more than keeping. It is now officially out of the regular 90% tube and into the numismatic tube.

    box of nickels - 1928 CAD, 43-P, 52-S, 58, 2x59 & a 1976 error (see below).

It looks like it could be a severe weak strike, since I don't really see any grinding lines.

    Wow, golly gee!

So last night I went to the local Fresh Mart Store where I do my grocery shopping and as usual asked one of the clerks, with whom I am friendly with (they are all nice folks there) and asked for $10.00 worth of penny rolls.

Sorting through them in the evening keeps me out of trouble and feeds my "coin hunting" jones! Anyway, lo and behold, I spotted the usual bright, shiny copper coin thinking automatically that it was just another "Shield" 2013 that is so now common.

But wait! As I tumbled it over I noticed something entirely different about this coin....What? They can't be! But there they were, the two unmistakable bundles of wheat sheaths that we find on the "Wheatback Series" penny

Yes, Lads. Yes, Lasses, it was a 1957 D Wheat Penny! Gleaming from the dull crowd as if it had just been tossed into the mix from the Denver Mint, as if it had just been stamped and tossed onto my humble pile of brown pennies!

I would dare say it was MS xx grade! I couldn't believe my luck as I stared and admired the beauty of such a lovely, shiny and iconic coin! I wondered to myself..."How did it make it through 57 years of existence in this cruel, cold world and maintain such a high grade of numismatic glory and standards?

This proves to me that to look is to find and to find is to be happy and to be happy is to be blessed and all that equals the one thing we all seek.

Peace, happiness, love and that "Million Dollar Coin!"

    Later, hunters. E.

    2 Boxes of Halves.
    Box #1 - 3 - 40%
    Box #2 - 5 - 40%

Several NIFC. One was a 1987 S, which I've never seen in circulation before and never heard of anyone pulling one before. I've seen other 1987 p & d, but never an S.It was in really good shape, too, like someone just broke it out of the set before they dumped it in the machine.

So I work full time as an emergency dispatcher and part time at a hotel. The hotel of only 5 rooms is owned by great friends of ours. I was in a room folding laundry when I some how mentioned laundry at my apartments and how expensive it is. More than usual at $1.75 for wash and $1.50 for dry. He said he had a cup of change he wanted to give me to help me out. I wasn't by any means asking for help, merely stating what a rip off it is. Well when I poured out the change on my kitchen counter to separate the quarters from the rest of the change I found these 4 beauties! Not the best of shape but silver none the less. I'm happy :)
