So I bought the 25th ase set last summer. up until now I had them kept in their display box in a large tub with a recharge silica pack. however knowing that the packing itself can be harmful I finally took them out. They are now in a ziplock as you see and the zip is open to allow flow to the gel pack. now if i keep them as is do you think they are ok? I never touch my sets, only the ngc box so movement isnt much of an issue. just curious about this method of moving them out of their storage box. thanks

I wouldnt store them like that. Depending on how tight the coins are in the holders, they could move and cause surface friction within the holder.

I think they're ok like that.

It's a bit overkill, but they are just fine.

The coins will be fine, it really isn't necessary to do anything extra with the OGP, they do a fine job of protecting the coins on their own. Though I would say that I hate the new blister packaging that they have been using for a few years, they require a little more protection.

What happened to your Mercury T-Dog?

The photo of the merc was just a stock photo. The seated liberty is actually my own coin and my favorite in the collection. Although mercs are still my favorites, I'll update the profile pic when I purchase my proof merc. hopefully later this year after finishing my type set.
