Availability of new US Mint Products

I just got off the phone with a sales rep from the US Mint and as of now, they are unable to tell me:
1. Whether the presidential dollar coins will be included in this year's proof sets.
2. Whether the presidential dollar coins will be available as 4 coin sets
3. Same questions as 1 and 2 for presidential spouse gold coins.
3. Whether subscriptions will be available for presidential dollars and presidential spouse coins.
4. When subscriptions for these might be available.

Does anyone have any information about these?

It seem REALLY, REALLY hard to believe that these decisions have not yet been made.

I think it's likely that the decisions have been made, the problem is that the very low paid staff who handle the phones do not have that info or know how to get it.

I don't know whether that means you found what you wanted or not - anyway, here's the answer -

Now, when doing a search for info the secret is in the key words you use - try to use only 1 or 2. If that doesn't work do another using 1 or 2 different words. And you might have to read the whole thread for the answer you are looking for may be found in a single post that might have little if anything to do with the title of the thread. So you can just read the thread titles.

I ask one of the head tellers at the bank today if they planned on getting the presidential coins. She did not hava any idea of what i was talking about

That is what counts isn't it?...as long as the info is right....and time and time again he has proved that it is...I love getting the inside info before anyone else

I looked up on the mint website:

February 15 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set

I would think ND86 should probably be able to provide some input as he seems knowledgeable about the mint's workings.

I believe that answers every question asked, with the exception of the questions on subscriptions. The only thing I can tell you is to keep checking the Mint's site for this info and you can do that - Right Here

Circulating GW presidential $1 coins will be very popular and 100s of millions have been minted. Prepositioned at banks by Federal Reserve so they will be available on 2/15. Any bank can pre order these through thier correspondence bank or directly through the Fed.

Presidential proof set will come in bubble (not quite blister) lens instead of flat lens so that one can see the edge lettering.

Pictures of GW will begin to circulate next week when the Mint kicks off thier media tour.

I'm in the dark also, or did I miss it somewhere in this thread? Will the Prez dollars be included in Mint and Proof sets? Thanks, Douglas

in another thread ND said that the Prez. coins will be in the proof sets just like the State Quarters are in there---I haven't seen him say anything about the Mint Sets.

I asked my bank about them (TDBanknorth)They said that they will not order them. I'll check with my (Bankamerica branch) Monday.
