Gold Kennedy's

now I'm kinda psyched I want one I have a 3/4 complete Dansco Kennedy series w/proofs this will complement it
speaking of complementing a series I recently bid on but lost a mini VDB bronze Lincoln plaque really cool someone sniped it and it was one of those snooty "small auction houses so hunt still on

Terrible idea! I would imagine most are collecting Kenedy Halves because they are affordale. Gold versions would leave most collectors out.

 

In the Mint Survey they postulated a 3/4 oz weight for the gold coin.

ya forgot about that and given mints track record they do go over the top sometimes especially with anniversaries . i like the idea hope it happens

After I read this thread I remembered that I had a request from the US Mint to participate in a survey and this was not in the questions.

I guess that's the difference between a "Survey" and a "Poll".

 

Just read the article and nothing about a gold version. I also took the survey and don't remember anything about a gold option.

 

When the mint does these surveys they actually do several at once and not everyone gets the same questions

 

Maybe they will just be minted to celabrate the 50th of Kennedy 1/2's and not a series more a commem I hope

I have friend son who work at the Philadelphia mint.Plant rumors that West Point may bring November or December" Xmas " bring 90% or 999% silver SP Kennedy set 50k limit.
Congressional approval of strike type also planchet size and the silver % and availability holding up the mint saying anything.
**** its just a Rumor today.

 

I have seen this 3-5 times. What I wrote is what the break room rumors are being said by supervisors,production units etc

 

i am so happy that it looks like they are going to do the gold version

 

They are still just considering the possibility, and it would still require new legislation to be pushed through Congress to authorize them. So far nothing has been submitted and the longer they delay before doing so the less likely they will get it approved in time.

 

Can you wait till 2064?
