Odd pattern around coin

    Can anyone explain what i am seeing here? Around the outside of the coin it looks like it's shadowing behind the lettering.

    My guess would be that you are seeing the results of the coin having been the end coin in a shotgun coin roll - from a coin rolling machine in other words.

    Hard to tell from the photo as raised or incluse, but it appears to be a metal flow problem from the devices to rim.

    it just seems to be a discoloration, not a rise or incluse.
