You will have better luck sending your complaint to the New York Attorney General's Office:

or the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office:
http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/complaints.aspx?id=451#

as the Franklin Mint has offices in both of those states. Companies WILL take an investigation from the Attorney General's Office seriously.

I'm all for making the buying process more comfortable and wish you success
But I'll still keep a jar of Vaseline handy....just in case.

Get back with the forum on this matter when (and if) you receive a reply. By the way, was that 15 Calendar Days or 15 Business Days? When did you send the letter and when did they receive it? (Hopefully is was sent certified so that a dated signature can be entered as evidence)

In all honesty, I really, really want to see how this plays out in the courts as I expect that the Franklin Collectors Mint is going to ignore your Cease and Desist which will then "require" you to follow through with your litigation. Will this be a Class Action or solitary suit? What point of Law will or have you decided to use in order to prove that the Franklin Collectors Mint is using False advertising?

BTW, have or did you consult with your attorney on this matter "before" the letter was sent? If not, then I'm positive that the Franklin Collectors Mint is going to ignore the order as typically, these orders are sent on legal letter head from prestigious Law Firms.

Go get em Detecto!

Maybe you can get millions in some type of settlement which can then be distributed to the harmed parties?

But then, maybe this is gonna cost you some serious money "if it goes south on you"

Whatever, it'll be a great learning experience that I'd really like to observe. Again, go get em!

Well...........it's been 16 business days since you sent your letter Detecto and I see that FCM still has these two items up for sale on their Web Site.

Has your attorney already filed your legal action or will that occur later today?

Wow.

26 business days and FCM has not budged! Perhaps your attorney wasn't convincing enough?

OR

Maybe their attorney's haven't received your intent to sue papers?

I did it myself. I get tired of people just letting these types of scams continue.

Although no one else seems to care, I care about people getting ripped off and scammed.

Let's consider two scenarios.

Your grandma asks you what you want for christmas, you tell her an error coin...what if she is a fan of FCM, and orders you that? How would you like to open it up, and expecting an error, you get that instead?

Now...what if a young numismatist, orders this, thinking him/her bought an actual error coin, and finds out months later it's not?

As a coin collector, I care about other coin collectors, friends/families who buy them things, and new/young numismatists. If someone isn't going to stop this from happening, then I guess I will step up to the plate.

Coin collecting is a very fun and exciting hobby, and I don't want to see anyone get burned or ripped off from unscrupulous people and companies. Maybe if one of your friends or family members got scammed, your attitude about this would change.
