ANACS MS70 eagle, ANACS grading certificate for 4 coins, plus display box, $99.95 free shipping. Not such bad deal, is it?

 

What does it normally cost to get four coins graded at ANACS?

 

well, IMHO, it's not a good deal.

"Alleged Benefit #1" - If having a coin certified by ANACS carried the premium that NGC or PCGS slabs would, then I'd say yes the certifications have a value IF the submitter knows what coins to submit or even owns raw coins that would benefit from certification.

"Alleged Benefit #2" -Honestly, wood is one of the worst places to store coins. Most experts recommend storing them in inert containers. So, unfortunately, I am afraid that these "Red Oak Presentation Boxes" will leach gasses that will tone your coins, but that is purely conjecture on my part.

"Alleged Benefit #3" - The coin is graded MS-70 First Day Of Issue. Well, again, the ANACS market perception makes this coin trade roughly like raw bullion would and any benefit from the certification simply doesn't appear in the marketplace. They certified over 16,000 of these FDI coins alone, so again, no premium.

You are getting a 2014 Silver American Eagle in a nice holder, but for most novice collectors, I think that they'd be better served buying a PCGS MS-70 (if you MUST have a certified bullion coin) for $58 from moderncoinwholesale.com and skip all of the extra stuff that you don't want to pay for.

or you could just wait a few weeks and buy a raw one for under $35 from a local dealer.

 

ANACS is not NGC or PCGS, but I think you can sell that certificate for at least 50.00 on ebay, if not more (if it's transferable). That box you can also sell for about 10.00.

 

there isn't a single one for sale on eBay currently. I think you overestimate demand for these

 

I watched for a few minutes as they hustled the AGE for 2199.99 + shipping
I notice the 2013 date on the coin and also they did not state it was a pre sale

 

They never seem to say pre sale, they present it as if they already have them in hand and graded, it is stretching the truth for sure. ANACS as a TPG is really worthless in the market place, it does not carry the premiums as NGC or PCGS.

They sold 15,000 out of the 16,000 they had in just a day. Now they are selling the 2014 ICG Eagle (they use a 2013 in a 2014 slab for presentation).

 

I'm reading this as people are buying the name brand graded coins for resale purposes only and not to just collect. Am I right? If so, I figure you might as well just buy SGS MS^%$'s as it'll make just about as much sense, and return for you.

 

Plus all the eBay and PayPal fees associated with the sale of those items on eBay deducted from YOUR end, and if you include shipping.

 

Okay I just looked this up on HSN.com.

2014 ANACS MS70 FDI, wooden box, COA, and 4 coin grading certificate is listed for $129.95 plus $7.95 shipping.

I don't see how this is a good deal either.

I also don't see anyone flipping these, in ANACS slabs, for any kind of profit, but then again P.T. Barnum said there's a sucker born every minute.

Like I told you earlier today Rick, if you don't like what I, and I will add ANYONE else, posts on the forum, you have two options to choose from.

I don't need to feel superior to anyone, nor am I trying make other's feel inferior.

 

they now have the legit 2014's graded and in hand on the show now...haha. Still selling them ffor almost $100.

Just got 3 from a bullion dealer for $25 each in hand before the end of January!

 

Sunday night, they were selling the 2014 Proofs PF70 for $169.99. The were ANACS FDOI, only 48xx coins were graded on the first day and they sent it out in last years Reverse Proof Buffalo Mint Box. Oh, BTW, it was free shipping

Unfortunately, they sold a lot at that price. It's a shame to see people get taken so easily. Best part of the deal was the nice Buffalo government packaging they included.

I could on and on, but it just saddens me to see this "expert" sell this stuff at those prices. How he justifies it is pathetic. He should include some of that old west magic elixir the carpetbaggers used to peddle.

 

I agree, and I just take it as entertainment only, I really get a kick out of this snake oil salesman!

He doesn't justify it at all. His greed is his driving force. He is nothing more than a scam artist who preys upon people's ignorance of what he is selling at the moment. If the people who order anything from TV shopping networks would take just ten minutes to Google those products online they would find that they can get most, if not all, of those products for a fraction of the cost elsewhere.
