I've found a 2005 Buffalo Nickel that has the reverse rotated a full 90 degrees. The condition is AU. I've not seen this coin for sale on ebay or discussed on any other forums. Any idea if I have something special and what it's worth? Thanks, Jack T
The value of such an error on a modern day coin would be hard to determine without a gauge (so few similar coins sell on eBay and elsewhere)! The only thing that I could suggest, is to list it on eBay with really good pictures and include some with the coin in a stapled 2x2 that clearly show the rotation and see what happens. Modern day Error coins are bringing fairly significant premiums as they are somewhat more rare than similar errors from the 1800's to the early and mid 1900's. Good Luck! Frank P.S. Thanks Frank..........I'll look into doing that in the near future. No big rush to sell, I was just curious as to the commonality and its' possible value. Have a good day. JT
There was one similar nickel on eBay for ~$900, and also, I have heard the 1960s 'known' 90 degree nickel rotation error goes for up to $60 (this error was more common). I FINALLY found my first mint error and it happened to be a 90 degree rotation for a 1999-P nickel (only one I know exists, lol). Link is below, take a look. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-P-90-D...64?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item23355e5444
