    Is this a clipped planchet Indian Head Cent, or PMD? This is in my nephew's collection.

    Appears legit to me, but I really don't know anything about error coins.

    IMO, i'd say its real, looks to have blakesly effect on rim across from clip, (the worn area), which is a telltale sign that its authentic..

    I had read about that effect, but wasn't sure I was seeing it.

    Genuine. Look at the rims at the edge of the clip, and how they dovetail in...
