Think this one might make it to AU? Thanks Jerry http://www.ebay.com/itm/1855-1C-Braided-Hair-/201021115151?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=R%2FwivNTnt7FQcgKOjeD7jI%2FPQqM%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
I bought a 1849 coin from same seller a couple weeks ago that had the same lighting that made coin look a bit orangish. in hand it had that nice light brown color so I think this coin will look great in hand also. The 49 had some neat die crumbling on reverse though and an R-4 rarity. Not quite as detailed as the 55. Here is a pic of that one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201014633061?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648
Nice, looks like an N2 although I can't make out the die state, looks like either state a before the lapping, or state b after the lapping, but I would need it in hand to tell. The points on the reverse at O, N in ONE and E in CENT are pretty strong. I would call it sharpness either 40 or 35, with a net grade of 30 either way. If it's a 40 I would deduct 10 points for the scratch on the neck, the nicks above the head, and the staining at LIBERTY, otherwise 35 net 30. Either way you did well on the coin.
