It's a lower grade, but it sure looks like a 1964P-1DR-001 to me! Nice splits on the S's among others.

And yes, this was found in my pocket change... cha-ching! :)

I do enjoy sorting my cents. I have nearly 2 boxes in the backlog. I've noticed that roughly 1 in 7 are copper, 1 in 100 are wheat. I keep the copper until I have a large stash and flip it on ebay for a small profit. Haven't found much, then again, I'm sure I'm missing many of the minor varieties in my search... need to get a better optic, or better eyes.

Nice find. Been looking for one of those myself. Haven't found one yet.

What is the "error"? The S's look normal to me.

That second S has a pretty wide spread. A ton of doubled dies have a much smaller spread. Nice find!

Look at the last "S" in "STATES". The bottom of it has a "split end" (on the "serif", if I have my terminology correct)

Ok. Thanks. Read more on that link too. Amazing that all of the quality control issues that the mint has are so well catalogued (and in such amazing detail too  ). Kind of a forensic science.
