Just picked this guy up, where do you think it grades?

Very nice, looks XF-45.

 

I'd say VF-XF, very nice find.

 

I'm thinking XF. Values on these are on the rise in better grades, too.

 

There seems by these images that there is enough detail for it to be IMHO an XF-40.

 

XF40. It's hard to tell if there is any luster, but if there is I could see XF45.

 

I'll post new pictures when it arrives. Thought I got a good deal for $40.

Hard to detect luster from the photos. I'm gonna be conservative and say 35.

I'm sticking to my initial opinion of 40. Nice looking coin, but I don't see what I would need to give it the 45.

For the recent poster saying 35, I suggest you look at grading standards for Barber quarter dollar and half dollar coins. The minimum for an XF is a full LIBERTY, full band line under the LIBERTY, and full seperation of the top wing on the reverse. This coin exhibits all of that. Not that it's a huge price difference, it's an XF coin detail wise.

 

Thanks for the input Log Potato. I definitely am not as well-versed in Barbers as I am in other denominations.

 

Maybe even XF-47! great coin!
