At the start of this thread, those preferring women, as opposed to men, on their coins is 20 to 1. With that in mind, who should be the model for a new Lady Liberty coin? The list could go on and on, however, I chose 10 to present to you for your vote. I know I left out many eligible contenders, but I respectfully request you make the best choice from the 10 presented (10 is the maximum the thread permitted). Also, keep in mind that some of the choices are getting on in years, therefore, assume that the new Lady Liberty would be modeled after images of each model in their prime.
I hold nothing against the women on this list, nor you, sir, but it seems to me that this list was written in 1990, not 2014. Just saying' ... That being said, I would absolutely vote for Elle MacPherson. And I think the only coin that would have room for Ms. Banks' forehead would be the 5 oz ATB puck...
List was taken from the top 10 richest models list, top Victoria's Secret model list, and the top 10 Sports Illustrated swim suit model list. Maybe the 90s were a beautiful time. Maybe after this, I will submit a poll of the top finishers from this poll with a few more recent models.
Why isn't this one on the list? http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...DVc-13YyT0_NXiaww&sig2=6DG6I7fVQRlq6J36amd6ag Just kidding. I voted for Christie-the Young Head version.
C'mon, only 11 votes with over 50 views. Surely out of the 10 posted you can vote for one of 'em? Stick with the 10 posted, Mat, please?
I'm totally with you on Scarlett johansen even tho they were before my time I could make a case for Jayne Mansfield or Marilyn personally I think women in Hollywood were prettier back then less plastic more real and much curvier
The poll doesn't seem right Lonegun. I know you said in their prime but there are 20 somethings mingled with 60 somethings. Maybe it's confusing people?
All choices in their prime, that might be now or it might be 40 years ago. Just imagine each choice looking the best she has ever looked. I hope this clears up any confusion.
LOL, the results are pretty hilarious so far. I think people are having a hard time visualizing them all in their "prime". That, or you're all just too old to remember. I nominate Jane Russell for the next round
Have her voters actually looked at a classic Liberty (any variety) lately? Get one out and hold it up to an assortment of Upron images. Seriously, do any angles of her almost-blank, round face suggest Liberty? If you think so, please post or link to the images you're looking at.
Pere: I was commenting on the poll numbers. I voted for Christie Brinkly because I always liked her smile which you probably won't see on Miss Liberty coins either. It's just a fun thread. It's not like swimsuit models ever had to fight for anything more than a parking spot for their limo.
I'd have to vote for ScarJo if she was here, but since she isn't, I voted for Elle - she was *HOT* back in the day...still isn't bad.
Somehow they don't exactly strike me as 'Liberty' ~ pretty , but not a good example. I would like to propose Christa McAuliffe, may she rest in peace. If some may be unaware of her, check wiki.
I guess, I'm older than most on this sight, but I do not see any that I like. The only ones that I can think of, that were great in their prime were 1. Sophia Loren 2. Brigitte Bardot.
Maybe for a "politically correct" selection we might consider the inclusion of Lady Gaga in the second round. JMHO
