It's not inconceivable that the original owner of the coin did indeed have it during his tour in Vietnam, came back and put it in a 2x2 and wrote on it. Or maybe Bob was his pal and they served together. At least he's not binning it for an unrealistic price. Just thought I would be a contrarian. I won't be bidding on the coin because it has no value to me: numismatic or sentimental.
So THAT'S why the hatch blew before the recovery ship got there and the capsule sank. (You mean he didn't panic and blow it too soon?) Guess he saved the coins though! Guss is a great guy, did a lot for NASA, but he'll never live that one down.
Willieboyd2 I worked as a summer laborer in High School with a Baron Munchausen. He drove a Ford Pinto but that was because he didn't want to drive his Vette on the construction site and embarrass everyone. He was in the Navy, Marines, AirForce and Army for 20 years each and still looked remarkably young- about 35. Oh, did I mention he owned most of the diamond and gold mines in Africa and the oil wells in Texas? In fact I think owed most of Texas. So it made us dregs happy to know we were rubbing elbows with a tycoon.
Baron Munchhausen lands on the moon. Of course, some will say that the landing was a fake, but at least this one was in color.
