    Hello everyone!

New member on the forum, and I recently acquired a Washington Mint half pound liberty coin, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these. I found a little information about it, but I have no idea as to its collector value (or if its just worth melt). To be frank, I would like to sell it and pick up a few other items, but I am not sure how since I refuse to ever sell on eBay again for various reasons. Any of you recommend any alternate auction sites?

Any information on the coin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is interesting in that a troy pound is 12 troy ounces, yet they mix measuring systems and certify its weight in troy ounces while using avoirdupois pounds. The value is essentially its melt value and this is 8 x $20.27 currently for a total value of around $160. I would expect any legitimate coin shop would offer a slight discount to melt on the round.

    Thanks for the reply Tom.

Are there any reputable coin/precious metal buyers that you know of online? My local coin shop (only one here), isn't interested.

    Thanks again

List it on your local craigslist.com.

Insist on cash only, and meet at a local public place, and don't deal with minors(the law allows them to cancel deals like this).
