how many sets did you order. Looks like the 4 set coin set will not be a sell out in January at least.

I think we get new numbers today, but from some other posts I gather they are selling the sets at about 1000 a week now so 2 weeks left perhaps until sold out. I hope so, the sooner the better.

my coins came and went back. i hate Fedex they expect me to do nothing and sit at home. :( My coin collection has become so difficult because of Fedex. they dont deliver after hours and they wont deliver on saturdays

That is why I use USPS , they are a bit slower but at least I do not have to come home and see those nasty little notes about how they were by my home and no one was there . Heck I could have told them that .

My order for the 4 pc set, according to the mint thing, was shipped today. If that is ture I am looking at getting it about this time next week. Will still have the 2006w single silver remaining . It will be so nice not to be waiting on something from the mint. Like the end of a prison sentence or at least parole.

Sure would be nice to see some stats on the exact mintage figures when they are available . hint hint.

thats the whole problem i ordered standard web and they did a free upgrade to fedex. I hope the mint understands that i dont want to use fedex. :( they just called to say they don't deliver Saturday and i need to pay them in future if i wanted it to be delivered and the whole tone was rude. Talk about poor customer service

    fedex????

i liked fedex. cause it was insured, overnight priority (fast & reliable) and signature required.

There's an easy way to fix that problem - instead of using your home address, use your office or place of business address. That's where you're gonna be during business hours anyway. And even if you are away for a while, somebody is always in the office to sign for them. That's what I used to do ;) Or, you can always call FedEx, and arange to pick it up at their office.

my office mail is so messed up that they lost a package also sent via fedex that another department from the company had sent me. soa fter that experience i didnt want to get anything at the office. i dont have a car and the bus doesnt go where fedex is. it is a messed up situation to be in.

Have about the same problem mr. spock does. I really do not want people at work to know my business but some people do not mind this. Plus I move from building to building . USPS is slower for sure and the track order does not work very well. Everyone has their choices and their is no right or wrong to this. think all work reasonably well.

my set arrived this morning after name calling and haggling with fedex but guess what? 3 coins are ms70 except for the quarter ounce. what are the odds for that. looks like the mint finally did something right for a change :D let the party roll on

Given the current prices of the 1/10, 1/4, and 1/2 oz. AGE w 2006 in the secondary market, I am very surprised that the 4-coin set has not yet sold out.

    1350 = issue price of 4-coin set
120 = conservative estimated price for 1/10 oz in secondary market
290 = conservative estimated price for 1/4 oz in secondary market
400 = conservative estimated price for 1/2 oz in secondary market

540 = implied price for the 1 oz. AGE w (below melt value of the coin)

Veritas, you have very conservative estimates based upon what tracy5900 had suggested just a short time back!

    Alhas,

Yes, I used some VERY conservative estimates to deduce the implied cost of the unpopular 1 oz. gold piece.

Even at these conservative estimates, the value of the gold content in the 1 oz. coin exceeds the implied value of the coin.

Conclusion ... Buy as many 4-coin sets as you could comfortably afford asap before they are sold out.
