At this time nobody knows for certain how many of these new $100 star notes will be printed, maybe quite a few and maybe not - so these are all keepers. Star notes in general are all keepers but each note needs to be researched to find the true value, and that is part of the fun in collecting currency. :)

Everyone collects differently. Personally I do not consider ALL star notes to be keepers, especially modern era $100 star notes from multi-million note print runs. This note is from a 3,200,000 print run, and there are much lower (rarer) print runs of this particular series, which can be viewed here; http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2009ah.html. Just my humble opinion.

This is the researching of each note that I spoke of, and there seems to be some sort of premium on most all star notes. Even 2003 $1 star notes which are very common sell for $5 in Unc. condition ! ;)

Inform me what's the significance of a star note?

If the people on this discussion board say it is a keeper but the people on the other discussion boards you have posted this on say to spend it, who do you listen to?

My opinion go spend it on gold or silver since you can't exchange your bills for it anymore ;)

I look at star notes as a side issue. My money will go to purchase different charters, series and denominations through out history. I can't honestly say I bought a bill because it was a star note and bought it for that reason alone. If it happens to be that as well, that's just a plus on the purchase. I would save one or two, at the most, when you run across them. After that, spend them on more meaningful items.

Considering how many problems the BEP had in producing the notes in the first place with folding and wrinkles and other technical problems I would think stars notes are not going to be that rare and probably only radars, repeaters, ladders and very unusual numbers will be the only ones of collector value. The only true test will be time and wait and see how many stars show up.

I guess they must not be to on on I went thru the bills I got here including over 5k in $100s and no stars in any denomination a couple early 80s well circulated c notes is the most interesting me I don't pay much attention to bills as early us coins is my focus

Is not like I pay attention to my change I notice silver and wheats tho and if anyone gave me a bust dime or quarter I'd do a backflip but the 2 denominations I collect most (large cents and silver dollars) aren't in circulation no more
