Things appear pretty quiet at CoinTalk, therefore, I pose the question: Would you rather have images of men or women on your coins?
For me I think that would really depend on who was depicted on the coin. Now, if it is the difference between former presidents or various interpretations of liberty, then I'd have to choose liberty. So, based on that assumption, I voted women.
Gotta go with the ladies of course. I would much rather look at a pretty lady vs a dude. But I admit there is some men, in history, that I think is pretty cool to look at on a coin.
I like coins with nice female forms and effigies. Unfortunately, with the butchiness factor on many US Liberty issues, I'll take the ugly dead guys.
Need I remind everyone of Ikes? Not a fan of looking at him on coins. JFK is good, because who doesn't want a playboy president on their money? Then again, on that note, playboy bunny money could probably make a killing.
Do we have to have either of them at all? Animals native to the continental United States would be nice. The flying eagle cent and the shield nickel are two examples of past coinage which I would like to see revived.
The Peace Dollar is one of my all-favorites. I would be totally for seeing that image on our circulated coins again.
I agree the Peace Dollar is one fine Liberty. Until recently I thought the figure on the Barber series was a dude.
I hope Hillary gets elected in 2016... then the question can become: "Would you rather have the First Lady or the First Husband on your coin?"
