$_1.jpeg I bought this coin for 70 cents yesterday, and havent even got it yet. only one not so good picture, but im very eager to id it. i know its from afghanistan. i used a persian/pashto chart to translate the numbers and came up with 1298 or 1398 as best as i was able to see. in the solar hajiri calendar, 1398 is 2019/2020 so not possible. 1298 is 1919/1920, but i only see this design with the mosque being made in tge 1940's and 1950's. what am i missing? did i read the numbers wrong?

Yes, use the solar hejiri in Afghanistan but the photo is of the reverse of the coin, the date of the coin is on the obverse, like this KM1045 (2004,2005) pictured here (near bottom of page):

I guess you're right. Your photo is too distant to read the date, so it's hard to check it for those of us out here in cyberspace.

your a wealth of infornation. thanks. So it does say 1298, which is 1919/1920. thats what confused me. i was thinking tgat was the date, and didnt see the mosque design made that year. now i know to not look at the date under the mosque if i get more of these.

Welcome & I would've probably done the same if I hadn't seen a similar coin a few months ago.
