Rwanda African Ounce Series Coins

    This series is one of my favorites. Here is what I have.

    They don't have a mint facility I'm aware of, who strikes them?

    They all look like Matte proofs except for the last one. Why is that?

    The Bavarian Mint, huh? Whatever happened to Italcambio?

    They used to mint all kinds of countries' commemorative sets, especially silver proofs, in the 1970s. They were Caracas-based, but used minting facilities in Arezzo, Italy (Gori & Zucchi Mint). The owner of Italcambio, Mario Pizzorni (now deceased), was rumored to have been involved with organized crime. I see that they are still an operating business, but I guess that they don't mint coins anymore.

    @mlov: The last coin shown is a proof, the others aren't. I prefer the regular coins from that series as they come in sealed plastic/flips. And yes, they're struck in Munich.
