1953 penny error

I was going through my pocket change and found this 1953 penny with what might ddo in the (i) in liberty. I have been wrong too many times before so I turn to the experts. Let me know what you think and thank you in advance.

this is a normal coin , looks like the die was starting to wear out.

Is it possible this can be something else besides a worn die?

 

I doudt it is anything other than die damage. it looks like a tiny area in front of the I has chipped off the die.
