Sorry for the glare. Just wondering if you think this has an old cleaning and retoned, is AT, or something else. Just seems to have some odd orange color that I've never seen.
I would say it is a good guess that it has been cleaned, but I cannot tell with any certainty from those pictures. However, I see no evidence of any luster.
Dripping luster. It's probably a 64, just not sure it's worth sending in if the consensus is that it's cleaned or something else.
Looks good to me. I'm no copper expert but I have seen many pennies out of old rolls with similar tone.
I think there is a chance for altered surfaces, and the rim cut at 8:30 on the reverse might also be a problem.
its with a loupe and iphone. I def need to find out how these guys get such nice shots. I know a camera helps, but setup/lighting is probably most of it. The orange blotches kind of worry me but I guess I'll send it in. Guess I'm gonna renew my PCGS membership :/ No dealers around here.
If you have a coin dealer anywhere near, take it to him first. You may be surprised at the problems you could avoid and you may even get it certified for less. No guarantees, but if he can combine it with others, he would save you a bunch on shipping.
Or join the ANA then you can submit coins to NGC yourself . That never made sense to me that you'd pay PCGS to be able to pay them again for a service .
