For all you who collect coins from circulation or coin rolls: what coins can you cross off of the list of coins you hope to find? I've found at least one example of the following:

    Indian head penny
    wheat penny
    steel penny
    V nickel
    buffalo nickel
    war nickel
    Barber dime
    silver Roosevelt dime
    silver quarter
    bicentennial 40% silver quarter
    Franklin half dollar
    Kennedy 40% half dollar
    Eisenhower dollar coins

    Paper money:

    $1 silver certificate
    various star notes

I'm missing the Mercury dime, the standing Liberty quarter (good luck finding one of those that isn't in terribly condition), the walking Liberty half dollar, the shield nickel, all of the Barber coins except for the dime (found in a Coinstar reject slot), silver dollar coins, and pretty much anything pre-Barber.

What coins do you badly want to find?

None of the coins you listed are particularly difficult to find, unless your required method of finding them is to find them in circulation. I would imagine if I made that my goal, I'd probably die from old age and still never find any of the ones you mention. I've never found any of the coins you mention in circulation, my whole life.. Except maybe a wheat penny and buffalo nickel. And even those I haven't seen in my pocket change since I was in elementary school back in the 1980's.

I have found your list except the barber dime, but plus 90% Kennedy and WL half. The only reason I found the silver halves was from bags in the late 80's when half dollars did not circulate much and silver was low anyway.

I haven't found anything in change except an occasional wheat cent in years though.

I've found everything on your list except (like medoraman) the Barber Dime. Of course, I have found a few Barber Halves...

At this point, I just hope for silver, nice uncirculated condition, or a sweet variety. All are still out there in rolls, in about the same quantity...lol...

I've never gotten a quarter, a half,a dollar, silver cert, star notes, or mercury dime in change or hunting, but I have gotten at least one of all the rest!

In circulation, I've found a Indian Head Cent, Wheat Cent, Buffalo Nickel, Mercury Dime, Roosevelt Silver Dime, Washington Silver Quarter, Kennedy Silver Half Dollar, and State Quarter Proof. One day, I'll find a 2009 nickel or dime and will be able to go to heaven.

I find 2009 nickels all the time. I've found about 10 of them over the last month.

Do you happen to live in Puerto Rico or Texas? Most of them were released in those two locations.

I just got a silver quarter yesterday from AutoZone. I heard that unmistakable clink when he was counting my change. He heard it too and looked the quarter over real close. Then he banged it on the counter a few times. I kept telling him "no, no, it's cool, I'll take it." Finally he gave it to me.

I wasn't too thrilled about spending my last $20 on wiper blades for my wife's car, but somehow that silver quarter made my day.

As for the list, only wheaties, Roosies, Washies, war nicks, 40% halves. I did just turn a buffalo and a roll of red wheaties loose.
