Sorry to hear the bad news, gx. Call customer service. If they aren't morons, they should be able to help. I think most people posting here can attest to the fact that it isn't much of an irony anymore at Ebay. For example: I got refund-scammed by a buyer. Put him/her on my blocked list. Then in the following months and YEARS I kept getting PMs in my Ebay inbox from people who got scammed by the same person. The person was using the same Ebay handle(!) and name. They were asking me about my case, and they related their problems. He/she is STILL a top-rated ebayer. And they all lived happily ever after. As a coin collector (especially world coins), it's hard to shut off one of the most convenient means of selling your coins, but that's what I've done. I haven't sold there since.
I never told this story on here but maybe two months ago I sold a common date Canadian silver dime to someone. A few days later I got a message from another eBay seller asking me if I had any problems with this guy who purchased from me, because the same customer had purchased something from him and later claimed it was damaged, and he thought that was strange. (He sold a printer cartridge). I said I hadn't had any trouble but the transaction was just a few days prior so it was kind of early. Well, a few weeks go buy and I get a message from my buyer saying he didn't receive the coin. So I asked him to wait a few days and meanwhile I contact the other seller who contacted me and told him about this. So then that seller starts to contact other people who sold to this guy, and finds six or seven who also said he claimed he didn't receive their items and asked for a refund. Later this guy found a separate seller account that seemed to be in the same town as where this buyer was from, and the guy was reselling the same items that he claimed were lost or damaged. The other seller reported it to eBay. EBay won't tell you what disciplinary action if any they are taking, so I never heard anything else, but the buyer never did ask me for a refund.
If he never came back to you asking again for a refund, we can be pretty sure that corrective actions were taken...
