    Good morning everybody,
    i Have a question about this kind of coins, why a lot of coins have this holes?

    In this particular case the circular nature of the marks/voids lead me to believe that the bond between the copper cladding and the zinc core was bad.
    This often leads to bubbles -- and bubbles break.

    Although drops of something caustic to copper could also be the culprit.

    It looks like someone was dropping acid on it.
     
  7. I believe that this is commonly referred to as zinc rot. TC
