I'll sell coins here too ill often buy a coin lot just for one or 2 that I want and the rest are things I don't collect or are lower grade than I collect I also buy coins to sell on occasion
Wow, after reading all of these posts it sounds like there are a lot of other people just like me. I do all the same things and the wife says the same things. I just have not sold any of my coins because I have not gone down that street yet. Kind of afraid of how it works on Ebay. How hard it is to set up, list, sell a coin, how to ship and all of that. I need to sell some stuff. Just how to do it is my problem. At least I know I am not the only one out there with the same coin collecting habits and problems.
When I was about 13, I made a $35 mistake (which was a lot of money to a kid), and deeply regretted it. Now that I'm older I try and not to care as much about price... but I have a bargin hunter's instinct...
My biggest problem with using eBay is getting a good picture. The rest is relatively simple. For me I have trouble with the glare that gets into the picture reflected from the plastic of the slab. If you can get good pics the rest isn't so hard. All of the coins I would sell are toned nice coins that were sold with bad pic's. Now my problem is if I want to drop a couple I bought but didn't sell at a show I have the same problem the prior owner had. I have a nice toned coin that I too have a problem getting to look good on the pics. For untoned coins it really isn't too hard to get reasonable pic's.
