Ancient: First coin for 2014

    AS some have a bucket list, your top 20 coins that you really,really want, maybe some of you have them.this is number 10 on my bucket list. so if you have your number 10 coin or if you have a bucket list and number 10 coin is still out there post it up,the 10th top coin you really,really want, the World coin folks please add your number ten coin. or if you have a Croc o dillius post it up.:)

    Gaul Nemausus
    Augustus and Agrippa..10-14 AD.
    As or Dupondius.
    Ob.IMP DIVIF/PP..Bust of Agrippa in rostral crown, facing left
    and Augustus laureate bust facing right.
    Rev. COL NEM..Crocodile chained to a palm a wreath with long ties above.
    Red, green patina/ adjustment marks across faces.
    27mm x 13.18 g

    This coin has all the details, many are off flan.this is dealers picture will retake when it shows up.this is a budget coin..

    That's a great representative of the species. Despite the wear, it's got all the necessary devices, in my opinion: the busts, legends, and I particularly prefer to see the entire alligator, tail, maw, and chain. Good choice!

    Technically it's a wreath, but to me it always looks like the sun I drew in kindergarten art class.

    This is much better than most of these being offered. Few are that well centered or evenly struck. The surfaces could be a bit better but even those are better than most. These coins seemed to have lived a hard life. My page on these:

    awesome...one of those is on my list as well. I looked for one of these last time but couldn't find one that looked that nice for a price I could afford.

    to bad I'm no the wagon again....

    Curiously, I remember more about kindergarten than all of grades 1 through 7 combined. What makes me remember grade 8 quite well was seeing girls in a completely different light.

    ENG, I am a huge fan of your new coin ...

    => sadly, the kindergarten-sun is partially cut-off on my average example ... and also the poor croc's snout (*sigh*)
