    looks like it could be struck thru or detached lamination, we'll see what others say..

    It's lamination. It's very common on wheaties. It actually lowers the value since it can't be graded.

    Just because it can't be graded doesn't mean it lowers the value. In fact, I have seen slabbed examples with "error: lamination" sold before. Lamination errors definitely can sell for a premium.

    hmm.. I can't think of an example where a laminated piece would sell more than its counterpart.. but I'm sure there are people out there. My 22-D came back in a body bag from PCGS. I forget if NGC does the same
