This one took me a while, I juggled between two grades. A real liner IMO. I'd like to hear your guys thoughts.
i would go ms 65 or better. the surface marks are minimal and i'm sure the pic doesn't do it justice. nice coin!
I'm gonna say 65, but if the frost breaks look worse in hand than they do in the pic then I'd have to say 64.
No, frost breaks occur when one coin rubs against another, usually in the bag immediately after minting.
I think the coin is MS 65 I would like to see the coin close up. Maybe then, I would say MS 65 Proof like
Zane Is there any way to get a closer look at the hair above the ear?....it looks kindof flat...??? If not then I would go along with MS64...mainly because of the frost breaks on the face and that dig on the chin... Speedy
Ruben I misunderstood your question, when someone ask - cleaned ? I assume they mean harshly cleaned, personally I do not consider peoperly dipped coins "cleaned". However, if you'll think back a few weeks, there was a thread here where we dicussed the topic at length. In that thread it was commented on that perhaps as many as 90% of older silver coins had been dipped. But of course that means that 10% ( or a bit more ) have not been dipped. And of that 10% some of them have managed to stay blast white, or at least what appears to be blast white. A large percentage of that number are the CC Morgan dollars. It was also discussed how they managed to stay that way. I'm not going to write it all again, hopefully this will jog your memory
I would love to see this coin in hand.....but I would lean toward MS-65. My main question is how the vertical mark on the face, which I am assuming is a break in the frost, looks in person.
