Why would you spend $70 for a 2007 Limited Edition of the Red Book?

I bought the 1947 Leather Tribute Edition and the original cover 1947 Tribute Edition on the Whitman web site. Being a collector of the RED books themselves, in time, like most collectibles, they will rise in value if kept in mint condition. I could spend all day on this subject but this isnt Book Talk.

if its a first day of issue red book is def. worth the $70

 

i got mine and the number is below 200 what a catch today is definitely a lucky day :d

Huh? There is no first day of issue red book.
If you are referring to the 1947, original editions, there are two printings, 9,000 copies of each.
They can be identified by the silver dollar page with different wording.

I have both (editions), and really enjoy them.

If you don't collect red books by now, you have to try to do it, it is a real challenge, even harder than many coin collections.
There are special editions, authorized editions, the leather editions, signed copies, editing copies, and even error printings.
(sad to say, I collect all types-- it is driving my wife crazy!)

i get the older ones at yard sales for a rosie most of the time. i was just making a sarcastic comment because I saw someone say maybey they'll start slabing them. I was in a bad mood that night. sorry
