To the guys who aren't impressed with the mintage of the 2013-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle, what about the 2011-S Uncirculated Silver Eagle. Do you consider that just bullion too?
I'm not sure if the 2011-S UNC Silver Eagle counts since it was only available in the 25th anniversary set.
One of the problems with ASE's and other bullion is they develop what is known as milk spots. It is common for these spots to show up even after the coin is slabbed for no apparent reason. When this happens, the value of the MS 70 drops right out since for all intents and purposes the coin is no longer a 70 and no one will pay 70 money for a coin with spots. In addition, both NGC and PCGS do not honor their guarantee for milk spots so you are out of luck.
I Yea I have a PCGS MS70 2013 W eagle it has developed a couple of spots on it but it still looks good but I don't plan to sell it I have it for my collection.
I buy the Wunc Eagles every year since '06. made money on every year. some a lot some just a bit. but I don't go for graded ones, just raw in the mint box. when I saw the low mintage on the '13s near the end I got 3 more. turns out it was a week before they went off sale. I expect the price to rise over the next few months. I'll sell a couple then and watch after that. they may trend down after a while and then pick up in a couple of years as more people want to complete collections. this pattern repeats with a lot of semi-scarce modern issues. to each their own. I'm a collector but I like to play the market too. if just to lower my cost on my keepers.
A very entertaining fellow. He should go on SNL, that is, if you folks ever manage to get rid of him......
2007-W American eagle silver is the lowest mintage in ms . Proof 1995-W is lowest mintage proof American eagle silver .
