I normally buy a "Coins" magazine at Wal-Mart each month. I had to go to a different one than normal today, and while looking for "Coins" my wandering eyes found a "Beckett Coin Collector" magazine. This was an awesome discovery for me. I was an avid football & baseball card collector growing up and Beckett was, and is, THE name in trading card guides. I haven't read the entire mag yet, but it seems to be pretty cool. There is a really nice article on Lincoln's, showcasing the key dates and major varieties. The article has numerous quotes from Charles Daughtry & Roger Willingham. There are a few noticeable errors though. They have a Philly minted 1914 pictured for the 1914-D, and they continuously refer to doubled dies as double dies. Nevertheless, I am a huge fan of Beckett's work and will buy more. Also, as far as I can tell, this is the first edition. First edition coupled with all those errors...might be worth a couple hundred bucks in a few years. LOL!

I'd be hard pressed to even find a magazine rack at walmart. Where do they hide them?

I had heard that Beckett wanted to move into coins. Wonder if they're going to start slabbing coins too, they do big business in slabbing cards already.

Their website has a new database for coins as well, to store your collection online to go along with their cards, called organize.

The card database rocked. As long as you have a subscription to the price guide, you have instant access to values. Price changes were instant also. With a couple of clicks you could see how much your entire collection was worth.

I'd be willing to bet that they understand the importance of punctuation though.

    Tit for tat.

In our store, they're across from the grocery freezers, in some newer stores, they are up front between lanes 14 and 15, at least a new one we went to they where there.

None of that works with my recollection of the nearest store ~20 miles. I am not expert on that place, but I am pretty sure I have walked through it and just can't visualize a magazine section. I'll have to ask them.
