I found this item on an auction site I am a part of and I have no idea the the hell it is. My best guess from the pictures is that it is a sample paper currency for when the dimensions and look of bills were changing in 1929. Any help would be great.
That's exactly what it is, handed out by banks to familiarize the public with the change from large to small size notes...
The real question is, is it worth anything or is it more of just a cool historical piece. Either way it would be fun to have.
I have never seen one, in 60+ years of collecting. I'd vote that it's a good item, the vast majority destroyed in WW2 paper drives.
There are many different types of these items that were locally made. They appear occasionally. UNC ones may go for $20.00-30.00. In this shape I would not pay more than $10.00 unless I also collected Nationals from the same bank.
I've seen one other a few years back, but didn't have the chance to purchase it. This is something I'd like to own too if given the opportunity.
Thanks for the comments peoples! I am totally going for it. Hopefully I can come back with good news.
