1818 large cent

I personally don't care for it Jerry, but to each his own. Too many environmental problems and the gash on the neck is very distracting. Like you say though, there are some nice details on parts of the coin.

Agreed. But as long as you're happy with the purchase, that is what matters.

 

If you're looking for a decent, low budget coin of this date/series, then the price is just right. Although you can get something real nice in the $100-200 range.

 

I'd skip it and save up for a better one . Just too much corrosion for my taste .

 

it might be a resell type of coin but most of the time I see these types of coins go for this much or more on the bay.
