Santa should be dropping this off. My wife won this for me.my first Cac coin ,most know I am not a sticker fan. But maybe Ole dog can learn.
Me I buy the coin not the sticker or the slab that old green label 1883 would probably grade 66 or 66+ by today's standards all 3 toned ones I just got are graded ms-65 2 by pcgs and one NGC and the 1883 is leaps and bounds a better coin
Do you find that those old green labels are often under-graded by a full point? Have you had success with resubmitting them?... just curious as I am fairly new to graded coins
I find that there's quite a difference as far as Morgan dollars are concerned I feel their far more lax in grading Morgan's nowadays then they were 15 years ago all you really have to do is compare recently graded. Ms 65 Morgan's to one from 15- 20 years ago and that's true in all grades as far as which is correct I liked the older standards I don't consider a heavily bag marked coin a 65 more like a 63 or 64 but they'll often grade them a 65 if there's no significant marks as to resubmitting the old holders I don't I like the old greenies and as I'm not usually selling them it doesn't matter I also find there's many that pay a premium for the older holders especially if it has a nice coin inside me I buy the coin not the holder eye appeal is first and foremost
Well circulated but I couldn't ask for a better friend. His name is Morgan. The Morgan dollar around his neck is a fake that I came across at a flea market and noticed it DIDN'T say "copy" on the reverse. I picked it up for $5 knowing that I was going to use it as his name tag. I sanded down the reverse, leaving the outer lettering and replaced it with his name and contact info. Anyway, wanted to share my prize Morgan.
