    UPDATE: This coin is officially "Scheduled for Grading!!!"

    Looks like NGC has added the correct attribution for the coin, as its listed on the online invoice as:

    L&M-108, Y-344 JUNK BIRDS OVER JUNK 1932 S$1

    Which means that it's authentic...so that's great news!

    I'm hoping that since there is only one coin on the invoice, it will be graded soon!

    It's official: MS63!!!

    I have to say, I'm glad I took pictures of this coin before I sent it in...NGC's slab photos make it look awful.

    Horrible question - but junk is the name of the ship I'm guessing? So "boat, with birds over boat" is what they mean?

    Easy fix. Remove from slab, quick dip in a bath, and back off to NGC for that MS-64 and better pictures. Then collect your $3,000+ reward and wait for your quarter to come back too and then buy a house.

    Congrats!

    I know there's collectors out there who DROOL over these in MS grades... Lots of fakes of these, too, so it's good to know you got a real one.

    Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the kind words. As a dancer who just completed my MFA and is now applying for teaching positions, a find like this really helps me bridge the gap financially until I'm hired somewhere. I'm glad I was able to share it with all of you!

    Ah...one of the few coins I wished I still had! All time best melt value pickup, honestly...but that coin paid my bills for half a year, so I can’t complain too much I suppose...
