pmd? or copper rim cud??

    I have given the best photos I can. I see there is pmd on the side but i don't believe what is there is damage. it doesn't exactly fold over or look pushed back. I believe that was there prior to damage. the "blob" extends up past the damage point. advice appreciated

    PDM The damage you can tell, I think, by the way the gouge on the edge, flows into the area of the design, instead out of it. The edge gouge cuts the reeds, if it was from then the reeds would have cut into it. If done before, then the die reeds would have cut into the gouge.

    Look at picture #4. The gouge cut through the reeds. The reed's deep rows do not cut through the gouge. If the gouge was in the planchet, before the strike, then the reeds and deep rows would cut through the gouge.

    PMD someone cut a tiny flake off the coin and it folded over
