Is the an online price guide for error coins such as double dies?

Can't seem to find a source.

The thing about doubled dies and repunched mintmarks is that there are likely tens of thousands of them. On coppercoins.com alone, a site dedicated only to Lincoln Cent repunched mintmarks and doubled dies, there are over 3,000 listed varieties...and there are hundreds more that aren't listed there, and thousands of others that haven't been discovered yet.

Now imagine if all the denominations had the same number of varieties. You are looking at tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of die varieties for coins. That is just too many for there to be a definitive guide for doubled dies and such.

In addition, doubled dies come in different strengths and types. There is no set value for just "a doubled die". It depends largely on the strength of the doubled die, how many are known, and how high the demand is for that coin.

Therefore, it is very difficult to put together an online price guide for all error coins (doubled dies included), because

1) There are so many different types of errors and doubled dies.

2) More and more are discovered every day.

3) Error and variety coins are a niche in the hobby that only a small portion of collectors will pay attention to.

4) Compared to the number of known varieties, there are very few popular doubled dies that regularly go up for sale.

5) There are so many doubled dies and varieties known (and waiting to be discovered) that trying to put together a price guide of every single one of them would be a futile endeavor.

The best advice I could give for looking for a price guide would be purchasing "The Cherrypicker's Guide to Die Varieties" and checking ebay completed listings for coins that most closely resemble yours. Best of luck.

 

one coin is giving me fits to find on a price guide or even if its common, I actually love the coin and think it's pretty neat to see.

 

That coin is a nice triple repunched mintmark, a D/D/D. It listed as coppercoins.com 1957D-1MM-002.
