If you ever purchase one of these, I would recommend buying a 1934-d. They all have triple die obverses, or at least a huge majority of them do.

I think that one is on the list of nearly everyone. I'd like to start narrowing down what I collect (as I've posted before, it's really just a bit of everything), and I'm not a commem. collector, so there's really no reason for me to get one, but... :D

I was just about to write the same thing... I saw an Uncirculated one of these, don't recall the date, but it was gorgeous! But alas, not long after it was gone. Well, I guess that would be a "cost avoidance."

Boy do I ever what an Oregon Trail. Actually I would love to have several. I never seem to have the money on hand when one comes up for sale.

The reason I choose this coin as my avatar is because I never get tired of looking at it. One day I will hold one in hand and call it mine. Of all the commemoratives this one is tops for me.

    Thanks for the info Zane.
