Well, while I'm waiting for the delivery of the coin I'll call "Grandmaster Cherry," I thought it would be relaxing (i.e., distracting) to photo and post another fun pick that was delivered today. I won this auction for $11.88 shipped. 1950 Washington Quarter CONECA: DDR-001 Strong doubling on the eagle's beak (as well as a die crack along the jawline): Doubling on the stems and leaves on the left side: Doubling on the lower left wing feathers: In other exciting news, it looks like James Wiles has updated the CONECA Master List on his Variety Vista website, and my 1941 D DDR-004 "First Reported" is now official! Check out the page here.
Wow Now she is breathtaking. You really are starting a desire in me to collect Washingtons, if not DDOS again. Beautiful piece. What would her value be? And to try my hand at a grade (novice here...).. MS-65?
My guess is this is somewhere around an MS64-65. I think it's probably a $75 coin, so not bad for 12 bucks. Plus, it's a variety I don't have, so that's cool...
Thanks guys! Doing my best to catch up to all the more experienced error / variety collectors... Thought: you'd be surprised how many eBay sellers have just awful, awful photos. Then again, you probably wouldn't.
