Looks like lower VF details, not sure if photo or corrosion issues though. Very good buy for under $20.

Thinking to buy this type myself and 1838 is indeed most affordable. Will cost me slightly higher than $30.

BTW, could someone share an online resource that lists and describes all the Newcombs for 1838 cent?

yes the rim dings are there. Probably why it sold for the price it did.

 

The rim dings are not worth bidding on the coin.

 

all coins have value. you might not think coin is worth bidding on but i do not agree.
