1818 Large Cent Newcomb Variety Help

    I just acquired this very nice large cent as part of a wholesale purchase and was wondering if I could get some help with the variety. I notice the base of the first 8 appears separated, not sure if that is a Newcomb indicator or not. Any input on grade would be app as well.
