Based on the 1944 and Prayer it was made by a D-Day soldier just before his departure.I can't think of any other event that would be more scary during that time, one of a kind piece of art and history;) Screenshot_20230108-183631_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20230108-183636_Photos.jpg

It’s fairly well known I don’t care for presidential coinage or anything not 19th c or earlier. But I figured if I needed an Ike for my type set and have every large size dollar coin issued but one (1836-9) and I love anything with a mermaid on it. Being one that’s stuck on land myself

Actually had to give this some thought, my collection being quite eclectic in it's variety.
One item though I really like and have very few other examples among my collection.. That being "Canadian" coins... oh I've got some Canadian LCs and a nifty butterfly hologram half but those were gained as part of a lot purchase...
These I won right here in one of @lordmarcovan s contests and I was VERY happy to win these.
My 1965 Canadian mint set :D

Here’s the most unusual coin I have. Found it looking thru a friends old junk box. She didn’t want it so she gave it to me. Her husband got it when he was stationed in California. Apparently they gave them out to the sailers when they came into port. You could redeem the coin for a free cocktail. 8CA8DA7B-FC13-4D37-8604-5C8EBCD46B02.jpeg 381096E0-0FD6-472D-820B-B4B14EA34998.jpeg

I like all ocean theme coins. Really like that mermaid. Who makes that one? I picked this one up last year. 935F19FB-8AF1-4599-B80B-966E5E1DC04A.jpeg EBA6EA9F-7687-4E20-B32C-7D80EE7A9FC7.jpeg

I don't know how old your son is, but when he was 8 he gave me a tie that he bought at a thrift store for 50 cents. I wore that tie to work and church for quite a few years. When his first daughter was about 8, I gave her the tie for a Christmas present for her Dad. He loved the tie as I did before. He has 4 daughters, and I'm hoping that he will give his grandson the tie for Christmas. It has become a family present for over 50 years and I hope it will continue.

Almost all of my purchases consist of individually slabbed coins and currency, and the occasional item in mint packaging. However, when I came across this in an eBay auction with 3 minutes left, I just couldn’t resist hitting the bid button. None of the individual coins are rare, but it’s probably the only item I own that will never come up in an eBay auction again.

Seller’s photos as this still hasn’t come in the mail.

I always buy Nu-Mastic (trustworthy Brand) when I am going to place a coin in the collection, because I don't trust old mastic I used before because I don't know how old it is.
    (don't hit me).

Here is a mismatched pair of middle eastern style silver earrings.
I do consider these part of my numismatic collection.

Honestly I don’t remember. I’ve had them for quite a few years. Probably got in 2018 or 19. But I bought quite a few.
