Does anybody collect those "Coin and Chronicles"

Does anybody ever buy the "Coin and Chronicles" sets, for example I know John Marshall and the Ben Franklin commems were sold like that.

Does it offer any increased value, or are they just dinging you for another $20 because it comes in a fancy package with a little ten page booklet?

I could easily see them offering a package like that for all the Presidential Dollar coins.

Both the John Marshall and the Ben Franklin commems are listed in the Guide Book, as the "Coin and Chronicles" sets, but, strangely, no others listed.
In Coin World Trends: there is just a listing for the coins, no 'Set" specification.

So, perhaps some one can say, were there non-"Coin and Chronicles" sets issued?

If I didn't buy the two yearly commems in PF and UNC (which I do),I might go for the coin and chronicles ,but I refuse to pay such a high premium for the same coins I already have, with a little bit of paperwork thrown in.This goes for the Lewis and Clark "Native American coin pouch" and buffalo dollar nonsense of a couple of years ago as well.

That's funny about the Lewis and Clark coin pouch...the bid values on those sets often vary wildly on ebay and I couldn't figure out if it was because of the particular indian artist who had crafted the pouch, or if was just based how "purty" a particular pouch was...in which case you could get screwed if the mint gave you a pouch with poor "eye appeal."

My understanding was that it depended on which tribe made the pouch!
Imagine trying to get a complete set?
