I don't know. They don't say how big the silver medal is either. But if it's one once it might be a pretty good deal.

I'll buy one. I'm a sucker for coin and chronicles sets........especially TR.

I read Edmund Morris' bio of early TR-before the whitehouse. That guy was quite a character. :)

The first thing that I ever read about TR was in an old Classics Illustrated comic book. I must have been 10 or 11 and was wildly impressed by his ability to overcome the health issues he had as a child.

Same here Green, same age, probably the same comic too. There's a lot of good stuff in Morris' book, if it's still in print. When he charged (alternate) San Juan Hill he was half way down field when he looked back and saw his Troop still sitting there and cheering him on-"Go Colonel Go!" Poor Teddy had to go back and tell them they were suppose to go with him. :p

I am a big fan of Teddy also, but since these are not going to be shipped until early March, I will probably wait a bit.

I'm buying. The .999 fine silver medal did it for me.
It looks like it's the exact size and design as the 1-5/16 bronze presidential medals the mint does. If someone had the weight of the bronze one you could probably get a close estimate of the silver weight of this one.

That's the 1-1/2 in. wildlife medal that orginally was struck in silver that will now be struck in bronze for the C&C set.

This is the one that I was referring to that was originally struck in bronze that will now be struck in silver for the set. This was one of the presidential medals that you could get in either the 1-5/16 or the 3in. size. That's why I assumed it would be 1-5/16".

At least they're minting them in silver and not 'plating them like they did with the Westward Journey sets back in '04-'05.

I think it'll look awesome with the high relief and struck in .999 fine!

They won't weigh the same if they use the same design as the bronze version. Silver and bronze have a different density.

If it helps, the 1 5/16 TR medal I have weighed 19.7 grms.
