In about a month (13 January) the European Central Bank will present the new €10 banknote, to be issued in fall 2014. The "new generation" €5 notes have been in circulation for several months now; time for the next denomination. And if you know how to play Tetris, you may win one of twenty €5 notes personally signed by ECB President Mario Draghi. :)

The press release is here (this is the English version; select your preferred language at the top of the page): http://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/pr/date/2013/html/pr131216.en.html

You can play and win* here: http://www.new-euro-banknotes.eu/ Just wait a second or two until the game window appears ...

*Edit: As mentioned in the press release, and as green18 pointed out (see further below), anybody can play the game, but you need to be an EU resident and over 18 if you want to win.

Oh, man. A chance to play Tetris with collectible banknotes as a prize. I wish this happened more often.

Actually, us Yanks can only get bragging rights. In order to win the note you have to reside in one of the member nations of the European Union. Still, I'm havin' fun.

So you're telling me I 'wasted' those 25 minutes? Jeez. Maybe I'll move to Switzerland so I have a chance to win.

Nah, pick a European Union member state instead. Doesn't even have to be a euro country. But Switzerland will work as well as the US - sorry, had not realized that. And now I need to stop writing. I'm busy, y'know. ;)

I knew going in that I was wasting time. I blew at least 2 hours.
