There's been a lot of discussion about DC and his fantasy overstrikes during the past few years here on CT... and the DC bashers cannot accept the fact that ANACS slabs these coins (that aren't marked "copy"). I think the determination was made long ago that Carr's pieces are O.K. in the eyes of the Secret Service, and I, for one, find his work bordering on perfection.
Reminds me of when I had a business account with B of A in the 1970's. I made a deposit, and the business teller told me that I had a $ 20.00 bill that was counterfeit and had to be turned into the Government. I was out the $ 20.00 and never heard yeah or nay since. I always wondered if this was a scam by the teller. Dave
You always have the right to demand a receipt when something is confiscated. That allows follow up and leaves the door cracked for legal action if something was hinky about the confiscation.
This was about 40 years ago. I think I did get a receipt, and charged it off on my income tax. Probably still have the receipt in my old business records.
