I figured out that it is suppose to be the nickel series. so I went and ask if it should stick to a magnet and they said yes. but mine will not any ideas?

Yes it is made out of common metals and is a very common coin i do not know what you were looking at that makes you think it is worth that much also it looks damaged so depending on how bad it could be worth even less !

I was looking at the wrong series of silver in the stead of the nickel.

The 3CN has a very nice group of varieties due to the hardness of the metal. with some dies producing very few coins. One of my favorites. ( Breen 2412) Repunched date and numerous die cracks.
