They FINALLY made the search function a usable option on their website. For years heritage has really only been the place to look at auction results. Stacks new website finally incorporates something like this. www.stacksbowers.com
wow, it is slow. But I'm sure it will be improved as they tweak it and people start really using it. At this point, I would say it is not usable. I have a simple search going, and its been 3 minutes and its still spinning with no displayed results.
Yay, but I hope they work out the kinks. Right-clicking to open in a new tab yields a blank page. No choice but to click on an item and view it in the same tab, which is a slow and inefficient way to do this type of research. And here's a search fail:
Definitely a work in progress. I was browsing their auction and if you hit "Back to Listing' it takes you back to the first page. I am guessing this is update is coming from the amalgamation of Teletrade and Stack's Bowers into name.
There are so many things still broken about http://www.stacksbowers.com/. I finally broke down and sent them an email. They wrote back saying they would take me recommendations under advisement. Honestly, there site still only works 1/2 the time.
It was awful nice of those guys to email you back. I guess I just wasn't important enough as a potential buyer this go round. I want some 57th St. Collection seated Liberty quarters and emailed asking where they are selling them, if it's only the weekly auctions, and if there was any way to buy direct. I see them (57th St coins in general , not necessarily seated quarters) all the time on eBay, and i know those coins are selling cheaper on Stacks main site than the eBay sellers prices. I would be happy to meet them in the middle in order to avoid their ridiculous system and lack of inventory I am after. Win win for both parties. It's been over a week now..............
Call them up, email sometimes don't make it through due to the overly aggressive nature of spam filters these days.
It's dreadful slow often maybe that's why I've got some good deals there before it can really try your patience tho
Yeah, I think half the people that want to buy coins there just give up. I told them that much in my email. I've been email corresponding with a nice woman named Jenna, but who knows if the higher-ups and technical people really care to fix the problems. If it scares the online bidders away from the low value coins, I'm all for it staying broken.
It's frustrating but is the cheapest place I found to buy killer toned Morgans among other things oops maybe I shouldn't say that
